Mumbai Rain Updates: Heavy rainfall persists in Mumbai today, with the city experiencing almost 100 mm of rain in the past 24 hours till this morning. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Mumbai for today and a yellow alert for Thursday. Thane will be on orange alert until Thursday, while Palghar and Raigad districts are under a red alert today and will be on an orange alert for Thursday and Friday.

Due to heavy Mumbai Rains residents are advised to be cautious while entering water bodies, as there have been eight drowning incidents reported from various beaches in the last month. Additionally, the city has faced traffic congestion, 26 instances of tree branches collapsing, four wall collapses, and 13 electrical circuit incidents in a single day. Tragically, a five-year-old child lost their life in a building collapse in Bhandup. Incessant rains have led to flooding at the Rasayani police station in Raigad district, and several rivers like Ulhas in Thane, Amba, Savitri, and Patalganga in neighboring Raigad are overflowing.

Apart from heavy Rains, in a notable development, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray and Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Ajit Pawar had a “courtesy meeting.” This marked the first meeting between the two leaders since Pawar’s split from the NCP before becoming the Deputy CM. After the meeting, Thackeray expressed hope for positive contributions to the state and its people, acknowledging Pawar’s significant role in managing the state’s treasury.
